​Karma Kids is a after-school program for elementary school youth.  We specialize in building emotional intelligence in our young children.  Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to understand and recognize one’s own emotions.  Our mission is to help children cultivate self-awareness and self-regulation, grow an understanding of loving-kindness and empathy for ourselves and others, as well as build the obvious social skills that come with making connections.  We believe that every child should have a safe place to explore their emotions, be surrounded by kind and loving hearts, and learn to find their quiet, peaceful place...a place where they can call home!  Every day that Dare County Schools is in session for a full day, we will have Karma Kids After-School at the Studio from 2:00PM-5:30PM.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT US:

• WE ARE OFFERING AFTER SCHOOL CARE MONDAY-FRIDAY FOR $80 PER WEEK/PER CHILD AND $75 FOR ANY ADDITIONAL CHILDREN IN YOUR FAMILY.
• WE HAVE A SELECT NUMBER OF SPOTS OPEN FOR NC PRE-K STUDENTS. COST FOR NC PRE-K STUDENTS IS $130 FOR THE WEEK, MONDAY-FRIDAY.  IF FAMILIES NEED TRANSPORTATION TO THE STUDIO THE COST WILL BE $155 PER WEEK (TO COVER INSURANCE AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES). 
• Students must bring a snack from home and water bottle with them each day!  Snacks will not be provided.
• We accept Drop-In's for after school with 48 hours notice!  $30 for the day!
• If your child attends NHES we provide transportation to The Studio which is located directly across the street! 
• We provide special Day Camps and out of school camps.  It is our goal to serve our community so if our families need care we try our best to open our doors for Holidays, school cancellation days, etc.  A complete calendar is provided upon enrollment. RATES FOR FULL TIME AFTER SCHOOL FAMILIES IS DISCOUNTED FOR ALL CAMPS INCLUDING SUMMER CAMP, WINTER BREAK CAMP, SPRING BREAK CAMP AS WELL AS ANY DROP IN CAMPS! 
• We are the only after school program to provide transportation to your child's additional after school activities(within 5 miles of MP 11, additional transportation fees will apply) For instance if your child attends Island School of Dance, KDH Parks & Rec. Programs, we can get them there.  Transportation MUST be scheduled and approved by the Director prior to the child attending the program.  
• We are not a state licensed facility, however the Director is a Certified Child Care Administrator approved by NC DHHS with 25 plus years in childhood education and a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.​
• For those families with younger children we offer Karma Kids Mindful Pre-K for ages 3-5 from 8:30-12:30pm, Monday-Friday or Peaceful PM Pre-K from 12:30-4:30pm.  Visit our page for more info: KARMA KIDS PRE-K

​ The Karma Kids program encompasses physical activity, healthy snacks, homework time and most importantly, a mindfulness curriculum to help children find a sense of peacefulness and build emotional intelligence.  We focus on building strong SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL skills. We incorporate two curricula in our after-school, our Karma Kids Taking Shape and Move with Me, Yoga Adventures.  Mindful Movement is focusing on connecting the mind and body to gain a sense of awareness and understanding of our surroundings.  Our intention is to create a relaxing and comforting place for children to be themselves and find out that who they are is AMAZING!

2:00-2:35 Pick Up
2:35-3:30 Outdoor Play (Dowdy Park, Tiny Forest or Field)
3:30-4:15 Snack(provided from home)/Homework/Reading Exploration
4:15-5:15 Weekly Themed Activities: Mindful Movement, Art/Science projects, community projects, Lego building, clubs created by the kids, indoor games, board games, Just Dance, Karma projects. 
​5:15-5:30 Clean up and Pick up

COST
Registration Fee- $75 per student for the school year.
After School Monday-Friday-$80/$75 Per Week For School Age & $130 for NC Pre-K Students.
Drop-In After School Day-$30 Per Day (1 or 2 days per week)**
**We have a limited amount of space! Drop-In students must register and pay the registration fee.  A minimum 48 hour notice is required by email or phone for drop-In students.  Once you have contacted us for service you will be expected to pay for the day even if something comes up and your child does not attend for the scheduled drop-in day!
